- To change your screensaver settings, go back to the “Settings” app and select “Personalization.”
- On the left side of the menu, select “Lock screen.” On the right side of the menu, you’ll see an option for “Screen saver settings.”
- Click that option, and you can choose whatever screensaver you want. We recommend using the “Blank” screensaver, as it doesn’t use any power.
Another tip on how to keep a computer from sleeping: you can use a program that keeps it awake. For Windows computers, we recommend using Caffeine. For Macs, we recommend using Amphetamine. These programs are designed to keep your computer from going to sleep, and they’re both free to download.
How to Keep Your Laptop From Sleeping
Now that you know how to keep a computer from sleeping, is there a difference with a laptop? The answer is mostly no. The steps to keep a computer from sleeping will work with the laptop. Just follow the steps above, and you’ll be able to keep your laptop from going to sleep mode.
There is, however, another setting you can change to keep your computer from sleeping. This setting is called the “power plan,” and you can find it by going to your computer’s “Control Panel.”
From there, select “Hardware and Sound” and then “Power Options.” On the next screen, you should see a list of different power plans. The plan you’re using will likely be labeled as “Balanced” or “Power Saver.” To keep your computer from going to sleep, you want to select the “High Performance” plan. Now that you’ve selected the High Performance plan, your computer will stay awake as long as it’s plugged in.
Note: If you’re using a laptop, you may want to consider using the “Power Saver” plan instead of “High Performance.” The reason for this is that the High Performance plan can drain your battery quickly. So, if you’re using a laptop and need it to stay awake for a long period of time, make sure it’s plugged in.
