How to Delete a Story on Instagram After Posting It

If you’ve saved a story as a highlight, you can delete it similarly to how you would delete any other story. Go to your profile page and find the highlight that you want to delete. The story will stay in your archive, but it will no longer be saved as a highlight. It won’t be visible to other users. You can still remove the story from your archive separately, following our earlier instructions. But if you want to be able to access it later, you can let it remain there.
Can You Delete Your Whole Story at Once on Instagram?
We’ve explained how to delete a story on Instagram by deleting the individual frames. But is there a way to delete your whole story at once, without having to go through each frame one by one? Unfortunately, no.
The only way to delete your story is to delete each photo or video in it individually. You can also wait until the 24 hours are up and the story expires automatically. However, if you want to remove it before then, you’ll have to go through each frame and delete it manually.
